In the winter of 1872-73 A. R. Finley built
a house in the center of a 640 acre plot of land he bought in Antelope
just southwest of Roseville.
A few years later he moved to Santa Ana and rented out the house.
His daughter, Emma Finley, married Thomas McBride in 1879 and they moved back into the house. When Thomas passed away in 1892, Emma moved with her children to Santa Ana.
Arthur Thomas, son of Emma and Thomas, moved back after he finished school and continued to farm there with the help of his son Thomas, until he passed away in 1962
