Plaque on east side of the road at between 768 and 772 Berkeley St. just South of Swing St in the SW part of SW Berkeley, MA known as "The Farms". It reads "Homestead of John Hathaway 1658-1705" Erected there in 1889, by the Old Colony Historical Socitey

The property there is owned by Joseph Hathaway of Dighton and his daughter Anne's house is just south of the plaque.

Mary Hathaway recalls that her husband, John, found a Mr. Babbitt, who lived near the plaque, whose family was related to Hathaways by marriage and partnerships.
